More model information

This exploded axonometric model show a series of stacked layers representing different levels of inundation (flooding, sea level rise, etc.) estimated using the inundation tool available in plas.io. This model can help to better understand the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events (i.e. flash flooding) on coastal communities such as the Washpool (City of Onkaparinga, SA, Australia).

Process: different inundation levels were estimated in https://plas.io/ and images were exported as .jpeg for further georeferencing and re-exporting as GeoTiff in QGIS. Point clouds were coloured based on aerial and inundation images in .Tiff format using the LASColour tool (LASTools) in QGIS. The central column was generated in CloudCompare using the ‘Distance map’ tool under the ‘Sandbox research’ menu. All layers were stacked and translated in the z-axis with a spacing of 1000m between them. Merged layers were then exported as .ASC and uploaded into Sketchfab.
