This model shows a landscape deconstruction of Watsons Bay, an iconic place in Sydney, NSW. The four stacked layers correspond to (from bottom to top) water (ocean), ground cover, tree canopy + bushes, and buildings + boats. The point cloud model was initially coloured in QGIS (with LASTool) using a high resolution aerial image (0.5m resolution) acquired from Nearmap. After, the segmentation was conducted in CloudCompare based on the pre- point classification defined as per data provider (Geoscience Australia). Finally the model was recoloured using the ShadeVIZ plugin.
