An incomplete, copper alloy Small Long brooch of early Medieval date (c. AD 450-550). The spring, pin, foot, and part of the catch plate are missing.
The head of the brooch is sub-rectangular in shape and is 19.31mm long and 21.77mm wide. Without the remnant of the perforated lug, the head is 2.55mm thick, but with the remnant of the lug it is 4.83mm thick. The bow emerges from the back of the head plate in an arch, is 8.19mm wide and 3.26mm thick, and has a rounded top and flat bottom. The remnant of the foot with the catch plate is 6.12mm wide before the break and 6.93mm thick.
