Weaving Sword (NHMW-PRAE-81.223)3D Model
3D scan of an iron weaving sword from Hauskirchen grave 13. This is one of the most abundantly equipped graves in the Middle Danube region of the Migration Era. The burial of a 25- to 30-year-old woman had been damaged so severely in the past that the original position of many of the grave goods ─ including this weaving sword ─ is unclear. It is assumed that with the addition of a weaving sword the elevated familial and social position of the person interred was expressed.
The iron weaving sword can be found in Hall 13 of the NHMW.
