More model informationAt the beginning of World War I, on the initiative of Arthur Krupp, the nail bear of Berndorf was carved to a design by the sculptor Otto Jarl in South-Tirol’s Grödnertal. On the occasion of the Emperor’s birthday in 1915, he was set up in Berndorf. Against a donation for the members of the armed forces you could strike an iron nail. The bear is in a cave in the Idagasse in Berndorf.
The 3D model was created using a replica designed by Mr. Zach. This is located in the Krupp Stadt Museum Berndorf. Due to the small distance to the wall, the back of the bear could not be worked out well.
