Wenlock Limestone (Sedimentary): This rock was deposited during the Silurian period. The rock has formed during a storm or extreme event. We can tell this because of the large number of fossil shells and animal remains we can see. The fossils are very broken suggesting a turbulent environment. We call this sort of rock a death assemblage.
