German salt-glazed stoneware with a very dense, light gray, clay body. Decorated with incised lines and rich cobalt blue pigment. Paste color varies from off-white to various shades of brown and gray. The interior surface is often a different color than the exterior. This particular vessel may have been a chamber pot.
