Trying out some remeshing scipts in blender/python on body scans! These ones come from the collection [Codame Labs] from @codame - all licensed under CC-attribution. As usual, feel free to re-use for nearly anything, and go check my growing collection of free assets ;)
Each model is made of 1500 triangles, and has its origin located on the ground plane. Obviously, scans with multiple people have a lower precision.
I removed the textures to keep the faces as flat shaded, as this is the step I’m currently thinking about: geometry. In particular, how to keep the characters nose - otherwise the face feels too flat - while remeshing in my (automated) workflow.
This could be done by specifying, with just one manual intervention (but not automated anymore!), the face as a zone of higher resolution and giving this input as a metric to mmgs. Will think about it…
More to come soon as I make progress and if I feel inspired!
