More model informationA complete pair of copper alloy nut crackers, of Late Post Medieval to Early Modern dating (17th to 18th centuries AD).
The nutcrackers consist of two complete arms, joined at a single point hinge. Both arm taper from the hinge down towards an acorn shaped molded terminal (on one arm); a flat disc terminal on the other. The outer face is decorated by three sets of paired horizontal ribs, and its cross section is semi circular. Below this the arm is plain until the acorn molding. The inner face has multiple horizontal ridges. The nutcrackers have fused together.
