More model informationAn incomplete copper-alloy pin probably dating to the Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period (AD 700-900).
Around 50% of the pin is present, with just the head and part of the shaft. It comprises a globular spherical head decorated with deep spiralling grooves known informally as ‘wrythen-headed’. The shaft projects from the base of the head. This is circular in cross-section and possibly features a very worn transverse collar blow the head. The shaft terminates at an old worn transverse break.
