An incomplete lead or lead alloy pilgrims ampulla, of medieval dating (AD 1300 to AD 1500).
It is sub rectangular in shape, with an incomplete horizontal linear upper edge and a narrowed neck, and circular body. Decoration is faintly present on both sides. The obverse is undistinct but has a cross hatched background, and the reverse depicts a large leaf design inside cross hatching. A casting ridge is present around the sides of the ampulla. Both front and back are damaged. Inside the ampulla are two complete and one broken copper alloy pins. The pins are all of the same style, with a wire wrapped head. One complete pin is slightly bent, the other is straight. The third one is broken into two pieces and still straight.
