WMID-6EF8CD - Cooking pot vessel leg3D Model
An incomplete cast copper-alloy vessel pot leg (Butler, Green & Payne Type C), probably from a cauldron, posnet or skillet of Post Medieval date, c. AD 1500 - 1700.
The leg is broadly triangular in cross-section with a slightly concave reverse. The outer surface is moulded into a central rib and a rib on each side of the leg.There is a raised transverse collar separating the leg from the foot at the front. The foot has a D-shaped cross-section and it widens and projects slightly forward from the collar to the base. It is decorated with two central ribs.The underside of the foot is slightly curved.
