WMID-E3A4FE Dagger quillon

A complete copper alloy quillon or guard, probably from a dagger or knife, of Late Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1300 to AD 1600).

The quillon is an elongated ovate shape with a curved profile and raised rim to the lower aspect. A sub-rectangular perforation is present at the centre through which the blade would have slotted into the grip. The surfaces appear undecorated.
