More model informationThe figure is a seated woman, the bow gripped in one hand while the other hand is held up and curled, ready to pluck the string. Her lips are apart, and one end of the bow is against the lower lip. The bow is made of a grass stalk, a node at one end, and a black cotton thread is tied round the stalk near the hand and passes to the opposite end, where it is pulled through a slit in the lip, lapped round this end and knotted.
