More model informationOn the front, there is an escutcheon with the inscription: Poma Cydoniorum imat(immaturus), meaning the fruit of the quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.). It was mainly used as a thickener, as the quince fruit contains a lot of thick juices. Quince fruit preparations were also used to relieve irritation caused by stomatitis and as a liquid for washing sore eyes and the skin of the eyelid.
