This wooden carving of a boar’s head came from Boar’s Head Mills at Darley Abbey, Derby. The carving is painted gold with a red tongue and nostrils, and black and red tusks and eyes. It is designed to be mounted on a wall or a pillar.
Founded by the Evans family in 1782, the Mill produced textile products until the mid-twentieth century.
