Work in Progress: Mc Phee Village Step 1 3D Model
A mass study for a future virtual reconstruction of the Pueblo I and II era village called McPhee today. This place was excavated by the Dolores Archaeological Project in the late 1970’s. The village is now submerged beneath the McPhee Reservoir near Dolores Co.
This model highlights the primary are of excavation, but the entire community was composed of some 19 more (mostly smaller) roomblocks, each with at least 1 associated pit structure.
The colors code known architectural media, gray for sandstone masonry, orange for adobe walls, blue for pit structures, and light tan represents the conjectural reconstruction of unexcavated areas.
This model is being develped for Richard Wilshusen, based upon his research available at tDAR https://research.libraries.wsu.edu/xmlui/handle/2376/4039. The model is also referening experiemntal replications of pit structures and pueblo masonry by Mark Varien and Wilshusen.
