Wroxeter Farm, Shropshire (UK).
Wroxeter Farm was built in the nineteenth century near the centre of the former Roman City. It partly overlies several important Roman buildings, and some of the farm’s walls incorporate fragments of Roman stonework.
The complex was built in two phases in the 1860s and 1870s, with later additions in the twentieth century. The cottage to the south was for farm labourers. Parts of the farm are used as an education space by English Heritage.
Our aerial photography, survey and photogrammetry at Wroxeter Roman City is part of a research project with the University of Birmingham, Vianova Archaeology and Heritage Services, Albion Archaeology and English Heritage. The whole of Wroxeter Roman City is a Scheduled Monument.
Model created from 2316 photographs taken on 14 July, 6 August and 8 August 2024.
