The replica Roman Villa at Wroxeter Roman City, Shropshire (UK).
The villa was built in 2010 using traditional methods, with evidence from excavated examples, under the guidance of the late Professor Dai Morgan Evans.
The villa is located on the site of the forum, which is close to the visitor centre and the famous ‘old work’ of the baths basilica. It was built on a specially-created mound so as not to disturb the archaeological remains below. The replica villa uses a number of different construction methods that may have been used during the Roman occupation of Britain.
Our aerial photography, survey and photogrammetry at Wroxeter Roman City is part of a research project with the University of Birmingham, Vianova Archaeology and Heritage Services, Albion Archaeology and English Heritage. The whole of Wroxeter Roman City is a Scheduled Monument.
Model created from 987 photographs taken on 15 July 2024.
