More model informationThe SSH-40 Helmet was the most produced Soviet steel helmet in and after WW2. Over 10 million SSh-40 helmets were produced by the Lysvensky Metallurgical Plant (LMP) between 1942 and 1945 and also way after WW2 (1940-1960). it was an upgrade from the SSH-39 to offer a more effective and simpler liner. there was many variants of the chinstrap and liners. it was also adopted by many Warsaw Pact countries and even made it way to Middle eastern countries. it was used in WW2 Korean war Vietnam war Soviet-Afghan war and many more conflicts. it was eventually replaced by the SSH-60 but it was still used by some countries.
