Wyrd exists outside of destiny and fate, entirely invisible to prophecy. In fact, it is antithetical to the very idea of predestination. It is said that its edge can sever the very threads of destiny and that its tip can be used to weave fortune or failure as its wielder wills. Perhaps then it is ironic that Wyrd has an affinity for those with great destiny already laid before them, rarely manifesting before those doomed to mediocrity.
