Xanthi Detention Center Reconstruction3D Model
This 3D model is a digital reconstruction of the Xanthi Detention Center in Greece. Created using Blender, as part of a collaborative visual investigation project by the Border Violence Monitoring Network (BVNM), Oxford University and the Blender for Visual Investigation.
Developed to aid in the spatial analysis & visualization of alleged human rights violations and conditions within the facility and an example of how open-source 3D modeling software like Blender can be leveraged by investigators, journalists, and human rights organizations for geospatial evidence & forensic architecture purposes.
Investigators can use models like this to:
- Contextualize testimonies and victim accounts.
- Analyze lines of sight, scale, and spatial relationships.
- Create compelling, verifiable visual evidence for reports.
