The challenge of Photogrammetry

YAMAHA WR250R is my favorite. I made full custom remodeling for motocross and enduro.

I have multiple 3D scanners, but this time I created a model from 120 photos taken with smartphones.

A surprisingly high quality scan model was generated by improving the tracking technology, but the photo scan model is not perfect.

In addition to collapsing intricate shapes, it is a problem that the texture setting is not made.

So, I rebuilt the model with ZBrush, set the texture with 3D-Coat, and finished with Substance.

As a result of this verification, I concluded that we can create a sufficiently high-quality model from photographs taken with smartphones if reconstruction is a prerequisite.

このWR250Rは私の愛車で、モトクロスやエンデューロのためにフルカスタムをした特別な一台です。

スマートフォンで撮影した120枚の写真からモデルを作成し、ZBrushでモデルの再構築を行い、3D-Coatで質感設定を行い、Substanceで仕上げをしました。

今回の検証の結果、再構築が前提であればスマホで撮影した写真からでも十分にハイクオリティなモデルを作成できると考えています。
