More model informationThis powerful, life-size female figure is a goddess known as a yogini. Hindu devotees worshipped yoginis as embodiments of female energy (Shakti), an energy that be as ferocious as it was benovolent.
This sculpture is at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
I was struck by the grain of the igneous rock that she is carved from plus the beauty of the goddess and decided to model her. I took a total of 52 photos in RAW format to maximize the information for Photoscan to work with.
I got all the important sides of the sculpture, but I couldn’t photograph the very top or rear of it as it is displayed against a wall.
