More model informationMonument to the bricklayers at Rosenhügel from 1985 by Oskar Höfinger. The five life-size stone figures are meant to remind us of the women who built around 3000 settlement houses on Rosenhügel (12th district of Vienna) in the 1920s. The land and the financing was taken over by the municipality of Vienna. The settlers had to contribute 1500 to 2000 working hours as their own contribution. In order to promote the sense of community, the houses were raffled among the members of the cooperative after completion.
