More model informationThis rare bracelet was made to look like a snake or some other beast, coiling round the wearer’s wrist. Its diameter suggests it was for a woman. These bracelets are typical of the area around Dundee, in eastern Scotland, and are decorated with a local tradition of Celtic art. This is one of the earliest discoveries in our archaeological collections – it was found in 1732 at Pitalpin, Angus, Scotland, but details of the circumstances are regrettably vague.
