We’re pleased to announce that a new 3D scanning app for Android has launched with direct upload integration to Sketchfab. 3D Live Scanner, which comes in both free and paid versions, uses a device’s camera and, on some phones, Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to construct textured 3D meshes that can be easily uploaded to Sketchfab.
The app implements multiple AR technologies to enable 3D scanning on as many devices as possible. It performs best on devices with a ToF sensor on the rear side. However, it can also be used on any device with Google Depth API support. To see if your device is supported, take a look at this list—if the notes on your phone model indicate that the device “Supports time-of-flight (ToF) hardware depth sensor” or “Supports Depth API”, then your device is compatible with 3D Live Scanner. If you have a Huawei device without Google Play, review this list and look under “Environment mesh” to identify whether your device is compatible.
How does it work?
I am proud to announce #3DLiveScanner @Sketchfab integration is listed as one of the official exporters for Sketchfab.
Great to be listed on the same page like Blender or Unity.
