Artist in Residence wrap-up: Tor Frick

Our third Artist in Residence was Tor Frick, principal artist at Machinegames. Tor was the first AiR to take on an animation project and in his typical hard surface SciFi/Weapons style he created an animated ‘Mechanized Sentry’ installation.

It was great to see this work come into existence and to see how the Sketchfab community and Tor interacted during its creation.

Tor says:

Making my robot sentry was a fun design experience. The animation support in Sketchfab gave myself an excuse to play a bit with very simple rigging and animation in modo to prove out the functionality of the model, which is something that I always try to improve. Sharing the project with the community via Sketchfab as it came together was a new way for me to showcase my work in progress, and very easy to do via the Sketchfab exporter for Modo
