Blender Exporter Update for Animations

Back to overview

Great news for Blender users! We now have native animation support for .blend files. This means you can upload your .blend file directly, there is no need to convert to an fbx file anymore. You can also use our native Blender exporter, which now adds a cool ‘uploaded with Blender’ icon to your model.

We always welcome your feedback, so if you come across any issues, please let us know in this forum thread, and feel free to check the Help Center for tips.

Remember to tag your uploads with ‘Blender’ so it shows up in the gallery and BlenderNation can find them to feature each week! You can also embed directly on Blender Artists and Blender Market.

Looking forward to seeing your Blender animations!

How to animate object transparency? Or had to scale it really quick.

  • I cannot use the exporter addon with Blender 2.8 and the blend file for the version of Blender 2.8 cannot be upload to the sketchfab website.

While we’re preparing for 2.8 support, things are currently still changing too much for us to release it. For the time being we recommend you use the bundled glTF exporter (enable it from the preferences first), and upload that.
