We are pleased to announce that Book Creator, a tool for students to create their own digital books, now supports the import of Sketchfab models directly into the app.
Book Creator offers an easy way for children to express themselves through the creation of interactive stories, science reports, digital portfolios, research journals, and comic adventures. The stories can be enhanced with text, images, drawings, audio, videos, and now 3D models. The tool displays the models rather than importing the model files themselves, meaning that the entire Sketchfab model library is at students’ disposal.
Book Creator works in Chrome, Safari and Edge on tablets, laptops, and desktops (but not mobile phones). 3D models are available to educators who have a premium Book Creator subscription.
How to display a Sketchfab model in Book Creator
- Enable Sketchfab in the Teacher Dashboard.
- To add a 3D model to your project, click the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner.
- Select the ‘More’ tab and click on ‘3D Models’.
- Use the search bar to find what you are looking for or browse the categories.
