Released as a public beta in February 20161, RealityCapture is fast becoming a favourite among professional and hobbyist photo scanners – check out some of the results being posted on Sketchfab by checking out the RealityCapture tag feed.

As it’s a relatively new piece of software, we made this video to help get you off to a good start. Let us know what you’d like covered in future tutorials and be sure to share anything you make using this tut in the comments.

    Hi! This looks great! What is the advantage of using this software instead of Photoscan?

  • Hey Silvia – as with most software, there are pros and cons. I’ve found RC to process 3D very quickly but the flip side is that it requires a good GPU to run. Currently Windoas only, PhotoScan runs on Mac as well.
