Sketchfab Hand Painting Challenge: Tea Party

Back to overview

It’s time for tea! For this week’s 3D challenge we want you to create your own hand painted tea party scene. This might be a single teapot, tea cup or cake, all the way up to an entire table full of crockery and treats. Have some fun thinking about where your tea party is taking place – the moon? A fantasy forest? – and whom the refreshing repast might be for – a queen? a vagabond?

Such a fun theme! What’s the correct submission deadline?

This post says Monday 26th, but the sidebar is saying Friday 30th:

  • hi, I really curious about this challenge. Give me a try! 🙂

  • Curlscurly says:

Hi! Yes exactly, Handpainted means that your textures for the 3D model are completely painted by hand digitally (with a Drawing tablet or a mouse if you want!) inside Photoshop, Krita, Gimp, Blender, 3D Coat etc! The textures are diffuse usually and there is no use of Normal maps (Even though some people use AO/Normal maps as a base for painting) Examples for handpainted textures can be found in many stylized games like World of Warcraft. Hope that helps!

  • Bart Veldhuizen says:

Oh, good catch! It’s Monday, March 26th.

  • By submit multiple scenes, it means we can do multiple unique entries for the same contest. Right?

  • Hi Sudharsan – yes you can submit multiple entries

  • Steng Po says:

Submission ends March 25 in 23:59 or 26?

  • Giovanni Caruso says:

Can i use Emissive map (glow) ? Or “avoid PBR” include it?

  • Bart Veldhuizen says:

“Submission deadline is Monday, March 26 (23:59 New York time – EDT).”
