The Megalithic Art of Dowth Hall Ireland 3D Models
Dowth Hall Passage Tomb
Rediscovered in 2017, the Dowth Hall Passage Tomb (ME020-098----) is a heavily disturbed monument, which bears the scars of various human interventions and modifications over its long life. Its surviving remains include two megalithic chambers, Tomb 1 (northern chamber) and Tomb 2 (southern chamber), six kerbstones, and cairn material surviving to a maximum height of 1.60m. At least a third (n=11) of the site’s structural stones have been decorated with pecked and incised motifs, adding to the already significant corpus of megalithic art in the Boyne Valley.
The Discovery Programme models form an important part of the digital dataset of this long-forgotten site, which was excavated by Devenish - (devenishnutrition.com), in collaboration with UCD School of Archaeology -(https://www.ucd.ie/archaeology/).
