Founded in 1921 the Detroit Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the rich history and culture of Metropolitan Detroit. The Detroit Historical Museum, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum and Historic Fort Wayne are part of the Historical Society’s network of museums committed to the conservation and collection of Detroit history.

Below is the work of Corrado Giuseppe Parducci, an architectural sculptor. In 1925 he left New York to work in Detroit, Michigan with architect Albert Khan. Parducci's work can be found on and in Detroit's most notable buildings. From the Art Deco inspired ornamentation of the Penobscot and Guardian Buildings, to the Classical Revival motifs of the Detroit Public Library and St. Aloysius Church. In his 56 year career, from 1925 to 1981, Parducci defined the visual character of Detroit architecture.
