Barcode 02 is a clinker built ship dated to last half of the 16th century. The ship is one of 13 shipwrecks that was excavated by the Norwegian Maritime Museum in the harbour of Oslo city during 2008-2009. The lower part of the ship is made of pine and is dendrochronologically dated to 1589/90, the upper part of the ship is made of oak and its felling date is around 1602. The pine was felled near the northwest coast of Norway; the oak boat parts come from the southern part of Norway or Sweden. The ship is 14.5 meter long, 6 meter wide and 5 meters high. The documentation of the ship was carried out using a FARO-arm digitizer and Rhino3D software. This digital model is based on a physical scaled model (scale 1:10). Scaling the digital model back up to the boats original size makes it possible to analyse the boat in a number of ways. For instance the weight and cargo capacity can be calculated using Orca3D, a plugin for Rhino3D.
