More model informationAfter scanning the film that was inside the cannister, we were also asked to provide some context photos. Having arranged the film and cannisters together on an A2 light box I decided that it would be worth doing a 3D scan while I was at it so that we could extract a cylindrical texture of the sides of the cannister. With the lightbox providing a slightly overexposed background as well as even illumination from below I figured it would be a good way to scan all sides of an object without requiring masking. In practise this seems to have been a great idea and this is the result of a single alignment without any masking in Reality Capture.
