La toute première exploitation du marbre de Saillon entre 1832-33 puis 1850 à une altitude de 745 m avec une percée perpendiculaire au flanc de la Grand Garde, un sondage (3) puis un changement de direction sur la gauche en suivant les couches. La hauteur totale est d’environ 7 mètres pour 249 m3 extraits. Il s’agissait principalement de marbre blanc et de bleu turquin. The first marble quarry of Saillon begenning in 1832-33 and 1850 at 745 m/msl with a perpendicular mining in the mountainside of the “Grand Garde”, a light poll (2) and a change of direction to the left by following the layers. The total height is about 7 meters for 249 m3 extracted. It was mainly white marble and turquin (deep blue).
