More model informationSerpent Mound is possibly the most well known prehistoric earthwork in the world. The serpent shape in iconography was common in prehistoric North America and around the world, but Serpent Mound is unique among prehistoric earthworks. Spanning nearly 420 meters in length and 1700 m^3 in volume. The age of the Serpemt is not precisely known, but several radiocarbon dates suggests that the earthwork was constructed around 320 B.C., which would suggest that it was built by what we call the Adena culture.
