Model_22_1032018. Sivré-I shelter, Ennedi, Chad (DStretch enhanced image, CRGB colour space). A standing figure, drawn by the outline, preserved for the legs and trunk only. The feet are painted on the wall of the shelter, at 90° respect the body painted on the ceiling. Because of the poor preservation state, the two crossed stripes do not appear in the first survey of this figure (Fig. 35 in Bailloud 1997). Rounded elongate shapes, possibly representing bags, hang from the hips. A reticular motif depicted to the lower left of the figure recalls a wickerwork object. The visible occlusions between the elements of this reticule prove it is the depiction of an object with a volume, not a two-dimensional decorative pattern. The zoomorphic motif on the far right is a novelty discovered by photo-scanning. Reference: The lost archaic paintings of Sivré IV (Ennedi, Chad).
