This colonoware pipe bowl was recovered from the Stable Quarter, a late 18th/early 19th century slave quarter at Montpelier on the mansion grounds (https://www.montpelier.org/content/neh-archaeology-study-montpeliers-enslaved-community) at James Madison’s Montpelier.
