More model informationThe archaeological site of Cosa, in Tuscany, Italy.
Cosa was an Ancient Roman colony founded in 273 BC.
Note the clear outline of the city walls, still standing today, along with a variety of other ruins on the site, from temples to cisterns.

Plan of Cosa:
Situated on the coast of the Tyrhennian Sea, about 2 hours north of Rome, Cosa occupies a hilltop promontory that was once Etruscan land. The colony was the focus of excavations by the American Academy in Rome for a number of years, and is one of the definitive examples of an ancient Roman colony.
