More model informationThe CITiZAN south west team have been working with the Nautical Archaeology Society and volunteers to record the remains of this wooden minesweeper from WWII. Thanks to volunteer Stuart Fitt we were able to combine aerial photos with ground shots to create this model.
The vessel now lies abandoned on the foreshore in Gosport but was originally built in 1940 as a purpose built minesweeper for the second world war. Historic photos believed to be from the 1970’s still show the vessel number - 113 on the hull, but this has since been lost and all that remains today is the lower hull.
The team have also been creating a detailed site plan using offset survey which will be published shortly.
