The individual SRP98 6775 is a female with an age category of 26-35 years, from Period 14, dating 1100 - 1200. From macroscopic analysis of the skeletal elements present, she suffered from multiple healed trauma in her cranium as well as her upper limb bones and left hand (3rd & 2nd metacarpal) with the 3rd metacarpal seen here with the healed fracture of the shaft. The trauma sustained was very well healed & the degree of healing in the fractures indicates that the injuries most likely occurred at the same time. The difficulty is trying to ascertain how the injuries occurred. The skeletal remains of this female were found during excavations of Spitalfields Market (1991 -2007) which revealed the remains of over 10,500 individuals excavated in 1999 - 2002 from the medieval period on the site of St Mary Spital. An Augustinian priory & hospital founded in the 12th century. Over 5,000 indivduals were anlaysed & a comprehensive publication by Museum of London Archaeology, monograph 60 provides detailed information
