Titanic Belfast

3D Model

This is the first model out of a series of seven that features a different building from each continent. This building in particular is the Titanic Belfast from Ireland. It seemed kind of anticlimactic with a name like Titanic. I chose it because it reminded me of how one event can affect millions of people. So as a result, most of the buildings that I chose have some connection to chaos and/ or conflict.

With 3D models like this one, I plan to print one of each, sand, and finish them. I want to make seven 3D printed boxes to fit around each models that I will then incorporate into a circle. Another step of this process includes creating videos of each continent’s news to projection map onto the models. The Titanic Belfast will have the “United Kingdom Leaving the European Union.” As a last step, I wanted to mix seven different music selections together—one from each continent, so that the viewer will experience a heightened feeling of awareness.
