More model informationThis sculpted stone was recovered from a late Neolithic context during archaeological excavations at Pool, Sanday in the 1980s. This object is remarkably similar to many carved stone balls, but it is not spherical.
This object is manufactured from a locally available siltstone and been ground to shape. One knob has been removed by pecking. The purpose of this artefact is not known.
