Did a scan of one of our company shirts for a quick project. This is the first time I’ve combined two sides of a soft-body scan - cloth tends to be somewhat floppy. To flip the shirt without messing up the fold pattern, I made a sort of cardboard sandwich I could press together. I also overexposed the shots to improve the scan.

The cleanup wasn’t too bad. Even after deleting points from the platforms from the dense cloud they still made their way into the mesh a little. Ended up taking those out in Max, then smoothing things over in ZBrush. I also used ZBrush for the decimation and unwrap, and was really happy about the results. I like Max’s peel feature, but UV Master in ZBrush goes so much faster and gets rid of all the overlaps even if the result is bent a little.

I also still need to find a faster way to patch up seams. There was one towards the “south” side of the shirt that I had to a 2nd channel unwrap -> bake -> photoshop -> bake to ch1 -> mask into texture approach. Substance Painter maybe?
