More model informationThis fine Neolithic stone axehead has been reworked as a weight by pecking a line around one end. This reworking probably occurred in the Viking period.
The artefact was loaned to Orkney Antiquarian Society’s Kirkwall Museum by Henry Scarth in the 1930s. It originally formed part of the collection in Skaill House.
