This statue is carved out of one solid piece of natural stone. The dragon’s pearl in it’s mouth is actually a loose piece and is pretty much perfectly round.
Equipment used: Canon 600D (used around 400 photos),phototent+turntable, dual softbox lighting.
Software used: Agisoft Photoscan,Blender,Instant Meshes,Substance Painter -and B2M (for the Roughness map), Photoshop.
Mesh: Original Scan: ~4.500.000 faces Midpoly version: ~110K Lowpoly: ~40K Texture: the texture in the preview is an 8K texture. It also uses a Normal, Roughness -and AO map.
The idea behind the Roughness map is that the white engravings are very rough, where the polished stone is slightly reflecting.
If you want a good view of the scan’s quality, check the ‘Matcap+Surface’ option in the model inspector.
