Detail of the putto figure sitting on a skull from the bottom of the memorial to John Moore (d. 1620) and his son John Moore installed in St John the Baptist Church, North Baddesley, Hampshire. A church has been situated in this location since Norman times. The Knights of St John of Jerusalem (later known as the Knights Hospitaller) based themselves within the vincinity in the 12th century and rededicated the church to St John the Baptist, the patron saint of Hospitallers. John Moore junior is called a knight on the memorial.
The 3D model clealy shows a crack on the head of the putto that was repaired sometime in the past. The theme of puttos with skulls are also found in the V&A collections which date around 1700-1800.
