Woronora Dam

The Woronora Dam is a concrete gravity dam, 390m long and 66m high. Construction began in 1927 and was completed in 1941. The dam supplies the northern Illawarra and Southern Suburbs of Sydney with potable drinking water. Diodrone completed 3 flights over the dam with a multirotor UAV equipped with 16 megapixel sensor, capturing oblique and NADIR imagery for the purpose of developing a scale 3D model. Imagery and Video data were also collected for the purposes of close visual inspection of the downstream dam wall where extensive calcification of drains was observed.
